FESTIVAL HASARD5

This platform is designed for collaborators and interested parties, serving as a dynamic space for information sharing, idea exchange, and the evolution from ideation to programming, production, and communication.

Festival Overview
The fifth edition of Festival Hasard is scheduled to take place from May 23 to 25, 2025, at Besso 42A, Lugano. This event will be hosted in collaboration with various artists, organizations, and partners within the historic four-story venue.
Festival Hasard was conceived in response to a distinct need, starting with its inaugural event at GATE in Fribourg in mid-2020 and evolving through to its most recent fourth edition at Fri-Son in March 2023. The festival has consistently fostered strong relationships with local partners, creating a vibrant synergy that is at the heart of each edition. Although primarily an in-person event, Festival Hasard also generates live archive footage available online, preserving the unique experiences of each iteration.
Each edition of the festival builds upon the last, converging towards a shared vision.

HASARD5 aims to create a three-day public event featuring a wide range of activities, including:
Dance, theatre, and performances
Music performances and concerts
Masterclasses
Roundtable discussions
Film screenings
Art exhibitions
Various other artistic activities
Activities designed for young audiences and families
Thematic dinners

Additionally, HASARD5 plans to offer a week-long residency (duration to be confirmed) to a select group of artists, collaborators, practitioners, or scientists. This residency will focus on the development of specific works, with most participants invited to join only for the public event.

Programming and Digital Presence
HASARD5 will emphasize in-house activities and will feature a live online archive, accessible through multiple live cameras, providing real-time insights into the event. The festival’s digital presence will also include interactive information about the festival and its partners, forums, and potential lodging arrangements for participating artists.
